Arlington Police used talkgroup 11 (1K - Special Operations Section - Motors).

Marine Corps Marathon (2007)

Arlington Fire/EMS used talkgroups 28, 29, and 30 from Arlington's P25 digital trunked system.  Talkgroup 82 was used by trash collectors.  Arlington Police used numerous talkgroups on Arlington's analog trunked system.  33936 seemed to be used as an "overall command" channel.  Other talkgroups used: 33712, 33808, 33840, 33872, 34032, 34064, 34128, and 34160.  Specific usages of these talkgroups could not be determined.  They may have been used for traffic control/other functions in different areas.

DC used talkgroups 2096 and 2112 for medical calls, and 16656 and 18288 for traffic control.  Talkgroup 2608 was identified as C15 ("Charlie 15") and had a "DC liaison" calling an "Arlington liaison."  Talkgroup 2640 was also used, probably for a similar purpose.

Park Police used 166.7250 [127.3].  Capitol Police used 170.1750 [156.7].  Security in the Crystal City area used 451.7750 [ d205].

Marines used a P25 380 MHz digital trunked system, although the vast majority of their transmissions were encrypted.  See this page for details: http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=RR&sid=3856.

Marine Corps Marathon (2005)

381.2000 course updates (P-25 digital)
381.3375 "Zone 1"; medical calls (P-25 digital)
381.6875 "8K started"; medical calls (P-25 digital)
381.8375 course updates; "Zone 1" (P-25 digital)

The frequencies above were used by officials (primarily Marines) coordinating race operations.  These frequencies are probably part of a 9600 baud digital trunked system, although no control channel was found.  The inputs for these frequencies were 10 MHz higher.  380.8250, 381.2375, and 381.2875 had P-25 digital encrypted traffic; unknown if these frequencies were used by the Marathon.

Marine Corps Marathon (2004)
Arlington County handled most of the public safety for the event, even some of the medical calls in the District of Columbia.  Numerous police talkgroups were active on Arlington's trunked system (see above).  On 33264, "SWAT Command" was heard.  On 33840, "Zone 2 Command", "Zone 6 Command", and "Ops Command" were heard.  On 33904, "Intel Command" was heard.  On 33936, "Intel Command" was also heard, as well as motor units.  On 34032, "Zone 1 Command" was heard.  On 34128, there were references to "EOD" and "posts".  On 34160, "Zone 6 Command", "Traffic Command", "Post 4", and "Post 13" were heard.

Arlington County Fire used three talkgroups.  On 34576, "Medical Command" and "Bike Team 2" were heard.  On 34608, "Aid Station" and "Medical Command" were heard.  34672 may have been the primary channel for the street festival in Crystal City that accompanied the Marathon.

Officials coordinating actual race operations appeared to be using UHF Project 25 digital radios (unknown if trunked).  Because the officials appeared to be federal/military (probably Marines), a search was done between 380-420 MHz.  The frequency was not found, unfortunately.  One federal frequency that was active and may have been related to the event was 407.3000.  This frequency had Project 25 digital communications on it.

Selected talkgroups from Washington's trunked system were active.  2096, 16656, and 35536 had limited communications.  Metro Transit Police used talkgroups 50096 and 50256 on their trunked system.
