800 MHz Interference Questionnaire Interference Does the radio system currently experience interference? If so, what has the interference been attributed to? How was this determination made? When was the interference last observed? Is the interference continuous, or does it only occur sporadically? Does the interference occur with more severity on certain days/times? How severe is the interference? How close are the system transmitters to the source of the interference? Does the interference occur on all channels, or just on certain channels? Does the interference occur on the control channel? If so, does this affect performance of the entire system? Solutions to Interference What is being done to mitigate interference? What are future plans for mitigating interference? If the interference is from cellular providers, have they been cooperative in addressing the interference problem? If the interference is from other sources, have the other sources worked with the city/county to mitigate the interference? Is there a working commission to study/address interference? How much would it cost to remedy interference problems? Has the city/county considered “radical” measures to mitigate interference (such as moving to a new frequency band, swapping channels)? If the city/county is considering a move to digital modulation (such as a Project 25 system), what effect is this expected to have on the interference situation? Have you been contacted by APCO or any other public safety organization about an interference problem? Effects of Interference Has the interference directly caused inconvenience to officers/fire fighters/city officials? Do any of the above parties routinely complain about the interference? Has the interference directly caused important communication to be missed? Has the interference directly caused a situation in which there was an eminent danger to personal property? Has the interference directly caused a situation in which there was eminent danger to officer safety? Knowledge of Interference Has the interference issue been in the news much?
